About B3
B3 (Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão) was created in March 2017 from the merger of BM&FBovespa and Cetip, consolidating Brazil's main equities, derivatives, fixed income, and over-the-counter markets onto a single platform. Its origins trace to the Bolsa Livre in São Paulo in 1890. B3 is the largest exchange group in Latin America by market capitalization and one of the largest globally, with significant volumes in BRL-denominated equities, listed real estate funds (FIIs), and derivatives. The IBOVESPA is Brazil's flagship index, dominated by Vale, Petrobras, Itaú, Bradesco, and Ambev.
